Planar lightwave circuit (PLC) splitter is a type of optical power management device that is fabricated using silica optical waveguide technology to distribute optical signals from Central Office (CO) to multiple premise locations. It has the characteristics of small size, high reliability, wide working wavelength range, and good uniformity between channels. These are widely used in PON networks to realize optical signal power splitting as a low-cost solution.

The optical network system also requires an optical signal to be coupled to the branch distribution. The fiber optic splitter is one of the most important passive devices in the optical fiber link. It is an optical fiber tandem device with many input terminals and many output terminals. It is especially applicable to a passive optical network (EPON, GPON, BPON, FTTX, FTTH, etc.) to connect the ODF and the terminal equipment and to achieve the branching of the optical signal.

The mini steel tube type PLC splitter family includes 1x2, 1x4, 1x8, 1x16, 1x32, 1x64, 1x128, 2x2, 2x4, 2x8, 2x16, 2x32, 2x64, and 2x128, which are tailored to different applications and markets. It has a compact size with wide bandwidth. All products meet ROHS, GR-1209-CORE-2001, and GR-1221-CORE-1999 standards.
